Dynjandi
Dynjandi, also known as Fjallfoss or "Mountain Falls" is one of the most popular waterfall in the remote Westfjords (Vestfirðir) for it is by far the most spectacular one in the region. The word dynjandi means "thunderous" in Icelandic. The waterfall is a series of waterfalls with a cumulative height of 100m. The biggest waterfall is 30 m wide at the top and 60 m wide at the bottom. This is the part that gets all the attention and the photos, even though there are impressive, albeit smaller waterfalls futher down the river. One of the smaller waterfall is formed in such a way that the brave can walk behind it, relatively dry.
The waterfall is breathtaking and you can also camp at the site with basic services.
Walk all the way up to the biggest part of the waterfall, it only takes about 15 minutes and enjoy the view.
